OK I will go first!

A is for…..

ATTITUDE – noun

1:  the way you think and feel about someone or something

2:  a feeling or way of thinking that affects a person’s behavior

And Winston Church (that super smart guy that left us with a ton of quotes) says “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

Big1

And I say:  “Love that all we have to do as humans is adjust our attitudes and the world in front of us shifts ever so slightly!  Positive, good, happy motivated, energized, determined; any one of those is a great place to start the new year, a new project, or a new business approach!!”

Ok, over the next couple of weeks I will continue to share my Attitude!!! 🙂

Find me over on Facebooktwitter or instagram , hashtag your “A” with #tellyourstory2014 and we will connect and keep it going!!

See, how easy was that!!!  One letter down 25 to go!!!

Cheers to the new year!!

Balance???

Did you say spare time???

Decoding Dyslexia VA

Owning a small business and being a mom are not exclusive, right? We all know that! What do they call that thing we all strive for…? Balance, hmmmm. Well I am thinking it might be over rated. I am remembering as a child standing on the center of the teeter totter, no riders and attempting to get the two side equal. Nearly impossible and everyone else is running around like crazy having a good time.

This is what is going to send my life into the next set of crazy and I can not wait. As a mom of a dyslexic who has been fighting solo for the last 6 years for appropriate programs for my son, I now have a group or maybe a little army of lovely and fired up parents who are ready to see change happen at a state level for their children.

So small business owner, mom, volunteer, balance…. I think I am opting for running around like crazy and having a good time!

Beginning again

So I am giving it another go, let’s see if I can give it a more intelligent try. Planning posting and scheduling uploads, I can do this!
If this were my very first post, I would introduce myself, so let’s pretend for a moment that you have never been here, or maybe we don’t really have to pretend that one. 🙂
My name is Kristin Kane, I am a mom of three pretty cool kids, the wife of the best guy I know and I also own and operate a little business named Water Closet Soap.
I hope… no plan to be here more often. My vision right now for this space is to just be me, to chat and write about the crazy fun stuff that goes on with life as a mini business owner.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers,
Kristin

Now you know a little bit about the lovely owner, how about what to shop for this holiday season. . .

Many of us send out holiday cards, and with that personal touch of an artist’s design, what a perfect way to send a little bit of beautiful artwork to all those relatives who we reach out to at this time of year.
OR . . .
A personalized set of note cards makes the perfect gift for the teacher, coworker, or volunteer in our lives.  Combine it with a set of address labels and you have a perfect pair that lets the recipient knows it was a gift bought just for them!

In Meg’s own words, here is how she got started.

“There was the task of making the perfect gifts for my sisters for Christmas and I realized they all loved to read, as did my mother, mother in law and sisters in law. Really, everyone I spend time with is a Bibliophile:  A person who loves or collects books.  As an avid reader I wanted to create something that is both pretty and useful.”

There are many gifts that a person can chose, but if you are a lover of the written word, you instinctively want to share your joy. Give your loved ones a great book and pair it with a unique and personal BookMark from MegsMarks.

A gift that says:

“Wow, they really thought about me!”

A BookMark does this over and over again whenever the book lover sits down and snuggles up with a good read.
